Our opinion on the Pure A9
The Pure A9 air purifier is without doubt one of the best models we have tested. Whether you have allergies or asthma, this device will ensure healthy air in your home. Although it has an ionisation function, you can deactivate it at any time via the app. That's why we also recommend this air purifier for babies and the baby's room.
The Pure A9 is ideal for improving the air quality of medium to large rooms (up to 129 m² depending on the model) and offers a much better price/performance ratio than its competitors. It is certainly the best model of all the air purifiers we have tested.

How does the Pure A9 work?
Electrolux claims that this air purifier works optimally in rooms measuring between 92 m² and 129 m². When used in spaces of this size, the Pure A9 has a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) of up to 620 m3/h.
This rate means that the device changes the air in your room 6 to 7 times every hour (depending on the model) for an area of 90 m². Such performance makes it particularly effective for spacious homes with high levels of air pollutants and allergens (dust, dust mites, mould spores, VOCs, etc).
Confirmed by the "European Allergy Research Centre Foundation", the Pure A9 (with its Breathe filter) removes up to 99.5% of all allergens and fine particles as small as 0.3 µm and 99.97% of pollen particles.
A simple and intuitive device
The purifier is controlled by a touch panel on the top of the unit, which consists of two buttons: a switch and a mode switch. The switch is used to turn the unit on and off, while the mode switch is used to switch between automatic (here called "Smart") and manual mode.
Smart measures the quality of the air in the room and automatically adjusts the speed of the air purifier. The faster it runs, the noisier the unit's ventilation system, but it is also more efficient. In our opinion, a speed of 50% is ideal for running your air purifier. Above 50 %, the noise level can become quite uncomfortable, however this mode will rarely be activated, as it requires quite a lot of air pollution.
An efficient 360° filtration system
The device is extremely efficient and according to ElectroluxIt purifies rooms up to 60 m². The Pure A9 sucks in polluted air from all sides and then release clean air. If you place it at the border of two rooms, it will effectively clean both spaces in the blink of an eye. Furthermore, the air purifier can be controlled in manual mode: thanks to its 9 speed modes, it will allow you to effectively treat the air pollution of your indoor air.
The Electrolux brand has also provided 5 different filters depending on how you want to clean your indoor air:
- Breeze - Universal filter for use at any time of the year, best for allergies, dust and minor odours.
- Clean - Smog filter for noxious fumes, vehicle exhaust and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
- Breathe - anti-allergy filter for pollen, dander, house odour and pet odour.
- Fresh - odour filter for smoke and cooking odours.
- Care - antibacterial and airborne virus filter, for mould spores and mildew.
There is so much on offer that there is something for everyone. If the choice is overwhelming, choose Breeze. It is a filter that works well in most domestic and professional applications. Each filter has an extra long life of 24 months. This is based on the unit being used for 6 hours a day in varying air pollution conditions.
A colour display of air pollution
The device indicates the degree of indoor air pollution by a colour. Thanks to a 6-step colour signal (from green to brown), you can see at a glance whether the quality of the air in your home is poor and why the appliance has suddenly become a little noisier.
The sensors in the purifier are relatively accurate, so you don't have to worry about the noise level: as soon as the air pollution in the home returns to an acceptable level, the Pure A9 reduces its fan speed and returns to a more comfortable level. silent operation. The unique PureSense technology is particularly effective in adjusting the airflow of the unit to ensure a healthier indoor climate at all times.
Possibility to lock the device
If you have small children, this option will be very useful! It works quite simply: to activate it, you need to press and hold two buttons at the same time.
A silent air purifier
This is a device that you can use in the bedroom, as its noise level is 17 dB at its lowest setting (quieter than a whisper). At maximum speed, the noise is about 49 dB, which is still quieter than a conversation, which is usually about 60 dB.
Ergonomics of the Pure A9
The Pure A9 is a purifier that fits easily into a modern interior. Once you've bought it, you won't have to worry about where to put it. It looks good in almost any location. Whether in a bedroom or living room: you'll have no trouble blending it with your surroundings.
When approaching this product, one notices a metal part with holes through which the air enters and rises to the filter thanks to the suction of a turbine. The housing element that covers the turbine has been covered with plastic materials (of very good quality) with very futuristic looking air outlets! The icing on the cake are the leather-like handles. Thanks to them, you can easily move the purifier to another room. And they are so pretty that even if we don't use them, they are still a sight to behold.
The top panel of the purifier also displays several icons. They inform you about Wi-Fi connectivity, ionisation (activated via the app), the device lock or the need to replace the filter.
The advantages and disadvantages
The Pure A9 connected air purifier is beautiful, efficient, easy to use and comes with an intuitive app. However, we regret that the air ionisation can only be adjusted from the mobile app and not from the device. It is attractively priced and although the filter is a little expensive to replace, its long life (24 months of use) is such that the cost of the filter smoothed over this period is similar to its competitors.
We recommend this model for use in medium to very large rooms (up to 129 m²). In addition to its futuristic design, we were impressed by its CADR of 620 m3/h, its customisable filters and its silent operation.
