How does the Rowenta Intense Pure Air XL work?
If you are concerned about the area covered by the appliance, the Rowenta Intense Pure Air Connect XL is rated by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). Through rigorous testing, this purifier is recommended for use in a 140 m² room. With an ACH of 360 m³/h, this device can clean a 115 m² room every 15 minutes without any problems. The application supplied with this product also allows you to measure the indoor and outdoor air quality. Once connected to the device via wifi, this application (developed in partnership with Plume Labs) will allow you to remotely control the purifier wherever you are.
Low maintenance costs
The Rowenta Intense Pure Air Connect XL uses a HEPA filter with a 3 year life span and an active carbon filter which needs to be replaced on average once a year. The cost of the filters is not high compared to the competition, which means that this purifier has one of the lowest annual filter costs.
A 4-stage filtration system
Like all Rowenta appliances, the Rowenta Intense Pure Air Connect XL offers its exclusive 4-stage air filtration system:
- A washable pre-filter capable of trapping larger pollutants such as hair and coarse dust.

A silent device
It is surprising that despite its size and powerful fan, the Rowenta Intense Pure Air Connect XL is so quiet. The lowest noise level of this appliance is only 28 dBThis is below the sound level of a whisper. When you switch to the highest fan speed, the noise level of the unit reaches 52 decibels, which is equivalent to a normal conversation at home.
Many practical options
There is no shortage of extra features in this flagship model from Rowenta. It is equipped with the Smart Sensor, of course, and the air quality monitor is very intuitive.
This purifier also has a relatively precise automatic mode, allowing the fan speed to be set to maximum if critical air pollution is detected in the room.
If you want the unit to operate at a specific fan speed, you can adjust its sensitivity to your liking. In addition, the air purifier is equipped with dust and gas sensors that can detect ultra-fine particles for a more accurate report.
Night mode is supported, allowing you to adjust the fan speed for quiet airflow with lower light intensity. Note that you can manually reduce the light intensity at any time.
Finally, the Rowenta Intense Pure Air ConnectXL has a basic timer, allowing the unit to be turned off after 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours. The unit also has LED indicators for the HEPA and charcoal filters, to remind you when to replace the filters.

The Rowenta Intense Pure Air Connect XL has a simple concept of a bottom-up airflow system, with the air inlet behind the front plate. On the top we have a stylish air outlet, with corrugated grilles. You can manually adjust the position of the air outlet grille. Rowenta also recommends setting the angle at 45° for optimum performance and 90° for maximum performance.
Finally, the Rowenta Intense Pure Air Connect XL weighs only 7.73kg, which is quite light for its size. It has a built-in handle to help you lift it anywhere in your home.
